Postponed

I am going to postpone...not cancel...but postpone our session of Billy Marmalade Academy for after the holidays.

I know..it sucks. Here's the thing though...I want to do it Heidi style and I refuse to do something half arsed. I have a vision for what kind of day this needs to be and I'm not able to give that to you as we speak.

So. Please stay tuned. Like I said we will do this! We have to or it will torture my crazy brain until we do.

Fall Wreath

If I can get my rear in gear and do this in October, I thought it would be only appropriate to have a fall themed item for one of our classes. This wreath is made of corn husks and if packed away at the end of the season correctly, you could use for years to come.

It's different from most of the fall themed wreaths I have seen and I think it has a timeless quality to it. It simple enough not to clash with different colors or styles of decor.

I plan to make this myself a head of time so I know what not to do and what to do. But I wanted to get the classes up so you can see what we will be doing.

Kids Floor Cushion

Finally!

I made this like 3 weeks ago and it took me WAY too long to get it posted. This will be one of the many classes that will be offered in October.

(Noah, my youngest is the model here. I had to bribe him to even take pictures with it. Pretend he's thrilled....)

Now, I am not a super sewer. I made this all by myself, no one died or got hurt although some obscenities were uttered but only because I had to make my own piping and and it sucked! So hopefully when we do this we can find pre-made piping (because I couldn't find any) and it will be so much more fun. Unless you're uber fancy and can make piping in your sleep...then by all means.

I only made one as a demo for the class, but all of my kids have been fighting over it. I will be making them each one for Christmas.

It also has a great handle (Noah thinks it's great, can't you tell...).

I think this is so cool. It's actually "usable" and would make awesome gifts. Sometimes it's hard to buy kids gifts when they have everything in the way of toys.

Anywho....so this is just a sneak preview of this class. I've got a bunch more up my sleeve...keep checking back!

Billy Marmalade Academy

Are you craft starved? Running out of ideas for new and fabulous things to make? Miss hanging with your homies I mean girlfriends? Well I have come up with a solution lovelies.......

This is the first year we are going to try this. Hopefully it is successful and it will become a yearly or maybe bi-annual event. I am putting together a type of Super Saturday of sorts but I want it to be different. This is not church related! I just wanted to make that clear. Anyway, it needs to be a get away. I want to offer fab classes with stuff you can actually use, that won't sit collecting dust somewhere. I want there to be a catered lunch (I'm catering it so now you have to come won't you) with happy food goodness and cupcakes.

I'm thinking October. Why?Because it's after school starts and before the holiday crackheadedness (say that 5 times fast) begins. So this is what I want you to do. If you are interested, follow this blog. That means you need to sign up as a follower and that way you will be notified of any new posts with important details and I can get a feel for how many of you are interested.

I will be adding pictures of classes we (I say we because I will be recruiting the "we" and they don't know it yet) will be offering. If you have any requests or ideas or would want to possibly teach a class please let me know. Right now this is still in the beginning stage so sign ups, costs and things of this nature is still to be determined. This post is to get you thinking and excited!
